FAQs

Are the SAT and ACT still important?

Many schools have always required a standard test. With test optional being a prior trend, we are seeing a move back to standardized tests for many schools. Yale, Dartmouth, and Brown announced their plans to reinstate college entrance exams. At most competitive schools, a strong score will be important.

Standardized tests like the SAT and ACT offer a measure of students’ academic readiness for college work. They provide admissions officers with a consistent way to evaluate students from diverse educational backgrounds.

What are the advantages of taking AP Classes?

AP exams scores can help students stand out in test blind colleges like the UC or California State system or show mastery and college readiness for highly competitive schools.

Additionally, many colleges offer credit for AP classes depending on the exam score. Students who receive college credit can accelerate their major classes and some can even graduate early!  You will need to check as this varies depending on the college.

When are the AP exams?

There are 38 different AP exams and they are generally given the first two weeks in May. How many AP classes and exams does College Click recommend a student take? This is a highly individual question and can differ based on what is offered at your school and what the student’s academic plans are. Contact us and we are happy to share a perspective based on your academic goals and performance.
